I’ve recently had to cancel a credit card because of a suspicious transaction, and was overjoyed to discover a service that I did not know existed.

When my card was cancelled, the banking system automatically issued me a new credit card number. It was a couple of days before the card was going to get to me, but because I had registered the card with Apple Pay, the new card number was automatically available in Apple Pay.

The same thing happens in Google Pay. So even though I didn’t have my new credit card, I could start using it instantly.
