Ever played video games in a movie theatre? On a three-storey screen? I have, and it was awesome. I write about the experience in today’s Georgia Straight, which published today instead of New Year’s Day.

Publishing today in the Georgia Straight is my look at TeamPages, a Web venture that aims to make it easier for amateur sports teams to operate.

If e-mail lists haven’t already spelled the end of the parent telephone tree, TeamPages—a Web site developed by a Vancouver-based company—certainly does. By combining group communication tools with social-networking features, TeamPages makes it easy for people involved in amateur sports to stay in touch and informed.

Been away for a bit, and never got a chance to note that an article of mine looking at various programs that help organize digital photo libraries published in the Georgia Straight last week.

There’s no shortage of cameras in our lives. Many mobile devices are capable of capturing still images, and most of these can record video. The most basic point-and-shoot digital cameras are so cheap and ubiquitous that many amateur photographers are upgrading to digital single-lens reflex cameras, once carried only by professionals.
