I may have been away from my desk for a couple of weeks, but readers of the Georgia Straight would never have known, as my regular columns, “Trigger Happy” and “Techno Logic” published anyway.
Here’s a rundown of what I wrote about in the last few weeks:
June 19
June 26

I’ve been busting to get columns filed well in advance to accommodate a three-week break.
The break starts tomorrow, and I’ll be in parts of the world where there is no easy access to the interwebs, so while I’ll have columns publishing in the next three weeks, I won’t be posting links to those columns here.
I promise to do a big post when I’m back, to get you caught up.
Or you can just check the usual places occasionally, and watch for my name. If you’re of the mind.
See you in July.

Video games
Despite the fact that Nintendo’s Wii is the best-selling video game console on the planet, there’s a surprising lack of games worth playing on the machine. Q: How do you know when a city attains world-class status?
A: When the Apple Store opens.
Vancouver’s first Apple Store – the first Apple Store in western Canada – opened on May 24. The Pacific Centre mall was full of restraint as the Mac addicts tried to remain calm prior to the doors opening.
Read all about it over here in my latest “Techno Logic” column for the Georgia Straight.
