The annual video game trade show – E3 – was quite a bit different this year, and I document exactly how in this week’s Trigger Happy column in the Straight.

I also run down the major announcements coming out of the press briefings held by the Big Three: Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony.

In my next column I’ll review some of the games I saw at the show that got me all revved up.

Just returned from nearly a week in Santa Monica, California, where I was covering the annual E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo). The reinvented format was quite nice, actually, given that there were only around 3,000 guests, as opposed to the 60,000 of years past.

In this week’s Georgia Straight I write about Sanctuary, a new television show being distributed exclusively online. The Vancouver-based production stars Amanda Tapping who, for those of you who don’t know, plays Samantha Carter on the Stargate television franchise.
