343 Industries, internally abbreviated as “343i”, is located at 434 Kirkland Avenue. The numerical resonance is only a coincidence, but it gives the studio an aura of destiny even before visitors enter the structure. It is the only Microsoft building in the world to which a senior public relations staffer cannot get instant access by swiping an identification badge. The only thing that suggests what goes on behind the front door is a reserved parking spot near the entrance labeled “Chief of the Week”. What has been going on is development on Halo 4, the first game in the storied franchise to be created entirely by 343i.
